CANTON, Ohio -- A public hearing will be held in Stark County today on the proposal to raise the county sales tax by quarter percent.The new rate would still be among the lowest in the state.The proposal would bring the new sales tax up to 6.25 percent.The money would help fund 911 services and help the county budget.Today's hearing is at 1 p.m. in the hearing room on the third floor of the Stark County Office Building located at 100 Central Plaza South in Canton.
