Ohio Investment Advisers Preach Patience

POSTED: 9:10 am EDT October 7, 2008

Financial experts are advising Ohio investors to hold on tight and not do anything rash as Wall Street thrashes around.

Chris Bardos with Ascend Advisory Group in the Columbus area says it's no time to panic because that can lead to mistakes.

The Dow Jones industrial closed below 10,000 on Monday for the first time in four years, on a loss of about 370 points. The Dow had fallen more than 800 points but made up some ground by the closing bell.

Financial planner Dale Rubin in the Cleveland suburb of Solon (SOH'-luhn) warns that investors who bail on the stock market will miss out on the gains when it starts to recover.

But Ohio State University business professor Rao Unnava says people near retirement may not have time to wait for the comeback.
