WASHINGTON -- A Florida toy maker is recalling about 145,000 crayon balls because the plastic base can break loose, posing a choking hazard to young children. Baja Products Inc., of Delray Beach, reported no injuries as a result of the defective toys, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday. The recalled products are the My First Crayon Ball and My First Crayon Ball Activity Set.They consist of a round, yellow plastic base with small red, blue, yellow, green, black and brown crayon balls attached. The activity set comes with scrolls of paper on which to color. The crayon balls were made in China and sold at discount and toy stores nationwide from June 2004 through March 2005 for between $2 and $5. The CPSC recommends that the toys be taken away from children immediately and returned to the store for a refund.Consumers can call Baja Products at (800) 556-3674 or visit the company's Web site for more recall information.
