NewsChannel5's Susan Davies said Tuesday's high will be 40 with an overnight low of 33.

Although many people may be wondering what's up with the snow, Davies said it's not unusual for snow to fall this late in March.

In fact, she said April averages about 2.5 inches of snow.

The calendar says it's spring, but northeast Ohioans will be better off to dress in their winter gear.

Although the flurries Monday morning made way for partly sunny skies during the afternoon hours, the snow isn't gone for good.

A wintry mix of snow, freezing rain and rain will move through northern Ohio overnight and early Tuesday morning as a result of a warm front moving northeast into the region.

More precipitation will arrive after midnight and linger through the Tuesday morning rush hour. Roadways could become slippery where snow and light freezing rain persists.

But the snow will move out of the area almost as quickly as it came in. Conditions are expected to improve by Tuesday, and the temperature will warm up considerably.

Here's a look at the extended forecast:

  • Tuesday: high of 57 degrees with a low of 44
  • Wednesday: high of 59 degrees with a low of 46
  • Thursday: high of 65 degrees with a low of 48
  • Friday: high of 62 degrees with a low of 39
